Here are three things we would like you to say using your natural speaking voice. When you speak, really imagine yourself in this GP surgery and your goal is to check in with the patient.
“Good afternoon, it’s nice to meet you. I see here on your chart that you are experiencing some abdominal pain and cramps. I am here to check on how you’re feeling, ask a few questions and make sure both you and your baby are alright.”
“That’s good to know. I am going to take your vital signs now, and what I mean by that is your blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and oxygen levels, just to make sure you are doing okay. Then we are going to check your baby’s heartbeat.”
“Okay, your vitals appear to be slightly elevated, but that could be just anxiety. We will keep you under observation. And your baby’s heartbeat is normal. I have contacted the O&G department, and they will be down shortly to check up on you”.
